The Emerald on Victoria Pty Ltd (ABN 52 684 188 850) trading as Gazi Sydney (“Gazi Sydney”) is a privately-owned hospitality venue located in Darlinghurst, New South Wales. We are committed to providing high-quality experiences to our patrons and guests while protecting their personal information. Gazi Sydney complies with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). What Is Personal Information and Why Do We Collect It?

“Personal information” means information or an opinion that identifies an individua” e.g. name, title, gender, address, email, payment details or phone number.

We collect personal information when you:

  • use our website (gazisydney.com.au)

  • interact with us on social media (e.g. Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn)

  • post comments or reviews about us online

  • provide information via telephone or online bookings

  • make enquiries online or in-venue

  • visit our venue

We use your information primarily to provide our services and—where you have consented—for marketing. We may also use it for secondary purposes directly related to the primary purpose where you would reasonably expect such use or disclosure.

Marketing

If you opt in, Gazi Sydney may contact you by mail, SMS, email, telephone or online to tell you about promotions, offers, news and services that may interest you. This may include marketing communications for other venues operated by, or affiliated with, our wider portfolio. You can update your preferences or opt out at any time via the unsubscribe instructions in our communications.

Video Surveillance

To maintain a safe environment, the venue is under 24-hour video surveillance. NSW liquor-licence laws require CCTV footage to be retained for at least 30 days (or longer if needed for an investigation). By entering the venue, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

Third Parties

Where reasonable and practicable, we collect personal information only from you. In some circumstances we may receive information from third parties and will take reasonable steps to ensure you are aware of it.

  • Our free venue Wi-Fi is provided by Aussie Broadband; its collection of personal data is governed by Aussie Broadband’s own Privacy Policy.

  • To comply with the Liquor Act 2007 (NSW), patrons may be required to scan ID on entry. Data collected (name, gender, photo, date of birth, ID type) may be accessed if required—for example, to enforce a banning order.

  • We may share limited contact details (e.g. name, email address) with trusted sister venues solely so they can send you relevant offers, but only where you have consented to receive such marketing.

Disclosure of Personal Information

We may disclose personal information:

  • to third parties where you have consented; or

  • where required or authorised by law.

Security of Personal Information

We store personal information in secure data networks protected by firewalls and password-protection systems, and take reasonable steps to guard against misuse, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

You may access or correct the personal information we hold about you (subject to certain exceptions). Requests must be in writing. We do not charge for access requests but may charge a reasonable administrative fee for copies. For security, we may require identification before releasing information.
